PERFECT NONSENSE at The Birmingham Rep

PERFECT NONSENSE at the Birmingham Rep is a new play adapted from the works of P.G. Wodehouse. Sean Foley’s production is a complete romp and totally hilarious. I was actually crying with laughter at some of the ridiculous farce. What a great night out at the theatre.

Robert Webb plays Bertie Wooster with aplomb. Jason Thorpe is a perfect Jeeves and Christopher Ryan as Seppings is comedy gold. Great performances all round. This is very clever play within a play. Bertie Wooster is acting out one of his tales on stage with the help of the Butlers. The Butlers play all of the other characters in the plot with such imaginative farce. Alice Powers set and costume design is an absolute triumph which brings together all of the intricate parts of this jigsaw seamlessly.
