DEAD DOG IN A SUITCASE at the Warwick Arts Theatre

November 9, 2015

Kneehigh’s production of DEAD DOG IN A SUITCASE at Warwick Arts is an explosive and exciting fusion of a rock concert and devised theatre. It is a modern look at the plot and characters from The Beggar’s Opera of 1728 updated with a new script by Carl Grose and music by Charles Hazlewood.

This play is very relevant to “our world where there is no trust in the political classes, where bankers destroy lives yet still collect bonuses, where the power of wealth and celebrity is completely distorted, where Law is often found to be corrupt… and where millions of people live in poverty and degradation.”

What I love so much about this play are the grotesque characterisations. None more fabulous than Rina Fatinia as Mrs Peachurn. This is an award winning performance which really is the jewel in an absolute crown of a play.
