Complicite THE ENCOUNTER at Warwick Arts

October 17, 2015

Complicite’s THE ENCOUNTER at Warwick Arts was very very thoughtful. Simon McBurney uses stage microphones, a few props, and is supported by an audio team, to transmit his story to the audience through headphones that we wore for the entire performance. His story and his performance are the ancient art of story telling. It is incredible how powerful our conscious mind is influenced by simply what we hear irrespective of what we see. This production confirms to me the pre-eminence of sound in creating reality in our conscious mind.

Unique, masterful and engaging Simon McBurney allows us to glimpse into his personal journey to better understand ourselves and our relationship to our environment through telling stories.
