Birmingham Royal Ballet VARIATIONS at Birmingham Hippodrome

October 17, 2015

Birmingham Royal Ballet’s VARIATIONS at the Birmingham Hippodrome was wonderful. Act one was Classic, Act two was Contemporary and Act three was Character. The first act was an impressive beautifully choreographed and performed grand affair and reflects the strict dance schooling of the pure St. Petersburg style. The second act is completely abstract in design and choreography and explores how the dancers come into contact which each other and relate to one another during the dance. In the final act individual dancers depict the personality of specific characters by using personal traits and specific incidents.

This production gives an opportunity to experience the broad range of ballet in one evening.I am never disappointed with the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
