There is something very important about the SET in a J.B Priestley play. The National tour of his play DANGEROUS CORNER at the Birmingham Rep did not disappoint with an incredible drawing room by Gary McCann. Add an excellent cast and you have all of the ingredients for a perfect evening at the theatre. There is a sound reason that his plays are still a sure fire way to fill a theatre.

What I particularly enjoyed about DANGEROUS CORNER, besides the usual clever structure used by Priestly to make his point, was how revealing this play is about the Upper Middle Classes. He has captured the dynamic of this small social group so perfectly. I noticed that I was observing the same dynamic of interconnectedness that I have experienced on the TV reality show “Made in Chelsea” which has a present day younger group of the same social class.
