Phantom of the Opera – UK tour

March 6, 2013

I took my mother Margaret Stephens for her birthday to the Milton Keynes Theatre to see the 2012/13 touring production of “The Phantom of the Opera”. We have both seen the show in the West End more than once. We were both amazed by the design of this production. There is more movement and the story is presented with more clarity with each scene clearly defined by a scene change.

We were lucky to see the understudies give exceptional performances. Olivia Brereton in her professional debut as Christine and James Bisp as Raoul. They are part of an excellent cast lead by Earl Carpenter as the phantom. I already have my tickets for when this production is the Birmingham Hippodrome in April 2013.
